Took delivery of my Iconic Esprit over the weekend, that's another story. Connected my iPhone via Bluetooth and then connected to R Link using my Renault username and password and then connected to Google as well. I can see the car in the app but all I can do is turn the lights on and off. Is this the only functionality as I was told by the dealer that I can set the car temperature with it and see other stuff?

Is this the only functionality?

Yep, that's all you can do with the app, it is a complete waste of time. Your dealer needs to be taken to task over what he told you, total misinformation!!

If it’s a preheat the car with app function yeah that’s the electric cars like scenic. For us the app is very limited.

App aside, with in car Google, when in car you can tell Google to adjust various things like heating (whilst you are driving) which is a bit handy.

Thanks all, major disappointment to be honest on that front. I also bought an AygoX Exclusive a few months back for £13k less and it has all the functionality via the app. I wonder whether Renault bothers reading these forums?

This forum has nothing to do with Renault and I doubt they know it exists. There are two UK forums on Facebook, of which one has been set up by Renault and they do respond to the occasional thread. The other one, again, has nothing to do with Renault.

You're right. The Renault app doesn't let you do much at all on the car. So far as I can tell, the heating etc is only for BEV cars while plugged in.

However, it is useful when you can't find where you left the car in a town you don't know. The map function works well for that. It's also handy having the other stuff about maintenance and contracts all in one place.

The reviews for the app in the Play Store say it all. It's an abomination and an embarrassment for such a major car manufacturer.

I'm still running version 5. something as the update last October completely broke what little functionality it did have.

The latest version is 6.1.3 which has corrected some issues. The app is not great but has improved from the mess it was 6 months ago.
