Hi everyone, has anyone had their Symbioz randomly unlock itself? My car was parked on the road for a few days and one morning I noticed that the wing mirrors were unfolded. I used the key to remotely unlock and relock, and they folded in fine again, audible lock noise, and flashes. I didn't think anything of it. The next day I went to use the car, and found that it had been ransacked - (and a case of wine and 24 beers taken from the boot, I shouldn't have left it in the boot I know)

I thought the car automatically locked when the key was nowhere near. The alarm never went off, I was home all the time. I always check that the car locks when I leave and the keys are kept in a signal proof Faraday box when at home, which is about 30m from the where the car was parked.

Any ideas what could have happened, and what if it happens again? Why did the car unlock, why did the alarm not sound, why didn't the car lock again? It's going into the dealer next week to fix a few other issues, I'll ask them to check whatever it may be.

Ask for a diagnostic check. There may be a fault code. Also if any door or the boot isn't closed properly the locks won't activate. I often leave the driver's door on the first catch when I'm working on the car. If I close the door fully as I walk around the back to open the boot and I'm a bit slow, it locks itself. This with the key in my pocket.
