Another feature I found without realizing it, the Symbioz has an electronic alarm. I thought it was equipped only with an immobilizer. My wife was sitting in the car while I returned a trolley after shopping. I had the key pad in my pocket so the the car locked automatically as normal. On returning to the car the alarm was sounding until I opened the drivers door. My wife has the second keypad in a Faraday pouch in her handbag. Proves that works as it should as well. It's a big learning curve with this new Renault even thought my previous 2 cars were Capturs.

Does it?!
Spec sheet doesn’t mention either of these 🤔
Would be over the moon if it does!

Hi
The dealer assured me that the car came with alarm and immobiliser. I can’t see any reference in the 388 page pdf manual.

I was also looking for a flashing red light somewhere near the dashboard when the car was locked tonight, but could not see it.

Do you see these on yours? Was it part of a package? I need to take the dealer to task if it’s not there 😣

You can check if there is an alarm fitted to your car by checking for the presence of the two black volumetric sensors in the overhead front light area (where the SOS button is situated).

To be honest given the amount of issues reported on the Megane EV, which has the alarm fitted by the UK import centre, you’ll probably prefer not to have it fitted! We’ve been lucky with our Megane which has only gone off very occasionally.

You can see the alarm sensors either side of the SOS button. These two sensors are drilled out and inserted by the UK import centre.

Only the UK market has the alarms fitted as standard. Other EU countries have no standard fit alarm, just an option to have it fitted later as an accessory,

Amazing thank you so much!!

Just went out to check and yes I have those in place, and see (locking from inside) there is also a red light on the bottom right of the main screen (where the lock button is)

I will sleep better tonight 😀

When the alarm sounds there is no indication from above the windscreen. Can you post a pic of the red light on the main screen.

Hi I can post a picture tomorrow

Essentially, for example when you set the car to automatically lock when you drive off, or manually activate it, there is a physical lock button on the 10.4” main screen (bottom right) and it has a red LED when locked

When you lock the car when exiting (or sitting inside and using the cars remote lock button) then the same lock button turns red and under observation it remained on. It doesn’t appear to flash however.

Does it work? Damn right. Had to leave the dogs in boot (converted into comfy dog pen) for 2 minutes and it went off very loudly.

Bonus points, discovered there is an alarm manual that was left inside the glove box 👀
