Hi,

I've been following the forum for some months now and its been very interesting (!)

I'm coming from a Sportage GTLS AWD after 2 and a half happy, trouble free motoring.

I've been a member of the Sportage forum for all of this time and was bemused to see that when the 5th gen Sportage launched in 2022 there were a similar amount of criticism/problems from new owners as there appears to be with Symbioz new owners. I can only presume that the vast majoity of owners don't have many problems and so don't post. I don't mean to belittle those with issues as it can be very frustrating and annoying when such an expensive purchase doesn't live up to expectations.

My only anxiety was I'd read that Renault were replacing the 1.6 engine with that currently fitted to the Dacia Bigster at 1.8. My dealer contacted Renault UK who told him this was untrue. I hope they aren't telling me porkies :-))

I've viewed dozens of reviews, read countless articles, driven loads of "equvalent" model test drives and was happiest with the Symbioz Iconic Esprit Alpine which I've just ordered. I just hope my confidence isn't misplaced,

Look forward to reading of your experiences.

Congratulations!

As a fellow Iconic owner, you are going to love it.

After 6 months, any issues I’ve had, have been minor, and certainly less we’ve had with the past few new family cars (Volvo, 2x Landrover, Honda).

It’s a lovely car to drive and own.

Even, dare I say it, it’s one of those cars you give a backward appreciative glance to after parking up!

Like all new car models, there are a few teething problems, but nothing major so far. Having come from a diesel manual Kadjar, I had to change the way I drive to get the most out of the hybrid engine and automatic gearbox, then there is the sheer amount of tech on board the car. Once you get through all that, the car is great to drive and very economical. You'll love it!
