350 miles in and having come from a qashqai 1.3 dig-t tekna plus.
I’m liking the get up and go off the line, useful at roundabouts as the qashqai manual was sluggish. On the motorway the qashqai was great and also much more premium and spacious inside. However the boot in the symbioz is bigger plus far less body away and grip seems better though that may be the better body control.
Mpg wise I just got 65 on a 40 mile round trip and the same on a 10 mile trip through town so I’m liking that! Seems not possible to get below 50.
My main complaint currently (apart from broken headlamp adjusters!) being the raucous nature of the petrol engine, and it’s reluctance to shift up resulting in high revving. It is an acquired job to manage this with a small lift off bringing the ev back in.
First thoughts
I agree it revs very high and is definitely reluctant to shift up. Takes a bit of getting used to especially if you've come from a manual. I seem to recall reading somewhere the high revs have something to do with the batteries being recharged. Although I may have dreamt that!Sbrace06 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2024 6:46 pm 350 miles in and having come from a qashqai 1.3 dig-t tekna plus.

Shame about the headlight adjusters. Fingers crossed that's your one and only glitch.
The electronic gearbox seems to control everything, the engine and the electric motors. When the engine is racing I lift off immediately and the revs subside. The gearbox software is all up to date, according to the dealer. Again, an email to Renault UK might be the way to go.
Symbioz Iconic Esprit Alpine
Hi, I'm thinking about ordering Iconic Symbioz.
I've already had this car for 24h test drive (from Renault dealer).
As You have already some “miles of experience” - can You tell me how are the seats and the front view for You?
1) I had trouble to find comfortable position as I have 185cm and because of not so heigh windshield - I had to be seated quite low for a SUV. Therefore I'm not so sure if 3-4h drive would be pleasant ride for my back.
2) Does the large island with a rear-view mirror that obscures part of the view through the window in the center stop bothering you after a while?
I have mixed feelings as the driving, interior and all the technology were quite pleasant.

I've covered only 350 miles in 3 weeks so I'm still in the getting to know stage. I find the seats comfortable and there is plenty of adjustment electrically. The rear view mirror is not a problem although the view through the rear screen is poor. With the rear seat headrests at there lowest the view is not great. I'm busy with all the tech stuff so will address the comfort factor more fully later. A long run is needed for that. Up to now 40 miles is my longest journey.TimC85 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 12:55 pm Hi, I'm thinking about ordering Iconic Symbioz.

Symbioz Iconic Esprit Alpine
I took delivery of my symbioz esprit alpine and first impressions are good. However, there is no memory function for the electric seats which is a key requirement as all the other (premium) models in the range have this feature. Surely this could easily be added to the profile of the driver. Also, can anyone confirm if their exterior mirrors are heated as mine remained misted yesterday even though the rear screen cleared. Am I missing something?
I have the Iconic version and and it doesn't appear to have memory front seats. Also switch 15, which is fourth from the left operates both heated rear screen and heated exterior mirrors. No frost so far where I live so not tried it yet. Pity there is no hard copy of the owners manual. The online version I find fiddly.Rich D wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 9:18 am I took delivery of my symbioz esprit alpine and first impressions are good.
