Spot on Rizmo, it is an update to the safety features, just had a call from dealership, no further forward, no update from Renault as yet, it's a waiting game now.
I think in all honesty this is pretty common especially for brand new models and is certainly not unique to Renault. My sister has been back to Audi with her A3 3 times for software issues which they have finally acknowledged is a widespread probkem for which they have only just released a model wide update.
If I open the rear doors next week and the interior lights come on I'll be laughing!

All, Thanks for your input last few days, I received my car this evening after a couple of calls with dealer today. Renault, at last, released updates codes for the software, so I imagine a lot of happier customers today. Thanks guys.
Thanks for sharing the info mate.
I checked to see if there were any updates pending for my vehicle via the multimedia screen and there are none. The update history section has one from the 25 Sept, the day I picked up the car, and mid July.
I imagine if we're all affected it will come through eventually if it can be done OTA.
Good luck with the car, I'm sure you'll love it.

I called the dealership this morning (I'm not in UK) as I was expecting my car this week. They said that the car is still on the way and confirmed that once it's here they need to perform an update, which they don't have yet. All vehicles of the model were recalled mid of this week with strong advise to not drive them until they're updated. The update is related to the battery controller and if not performed the battery might catch fire.

I received a call from Renault this morning, apologising for the delay and only 2 cars at my dealership got updated yesterday, so maybe a shortage of codes?, anyway, they are sending me a free gift as part of the apology, no idea what that gift is, but a nice touch.
I've just entered my vin into the recall page on the Ranaukt Uk website, the gov.uk website and the motor ombudsman website and all three came back clear.
You would think a possible fire hazard would have them contacting all affected owners, but nothing would surprise me.

Pete, to be fair, when I spoke to Renault, they said that any vehicle still in the import center required this update, some vehicles were shipped to dealerships, mine included, prior to the Hold being put in place. Maybe customer vehicles are ok, don't know how long the cars in import center have been there.
